Hi, I’m Carrie Isaac, the creator of Grocery University. Several years ago, I began teaching friends and family how to save money with coupons. In 2008, I started a blog called Springs Bargains, dedicated to helping the people of Colorado Springs save money on everything from groceries to dining out to entertainment and more.
With the advent of Springs Bargains, my local couponing workshops exploded and I knew there was an opportunity to take this valuable information nationwide. Thus began Grocery University!
I think you’ll find that Grocery University is more than just a “learn how to coupon” course. You see, when I first began teaching classes, I realized that while people left understanding how to get free stuff with coupons, and how to work all the fancy store promotions, they weren’t really saving money on their budget.
It’s absolutely possible to have a closet full of free shampoo…
and still be way overspending on your grocery budget
Yep – it’s absolutely possible to have a closet full of free shampoo and still be way overspending on your grocery budget. I developed Grocery University to teach a comprehensive strategy – not just “how to coupon”. You’ll learn how to maximize coupons, but you’ll also learn how and why strategic menu planning, stockpiling, budgeting, and a frugal lifestyle are foundational to saving money with coupons.
It’s my belief that if you listen to Grocery University and still decide to never touch a coupon again in your entire life, the comprehensive strategy taught in this course will still help you save money on your grocery budget.

In addition to blogging at Springs Bargains and teaching Grocery University, I’m a busy mom to three kids five and under – with one on the way! Needless to say, diapers have been a big expenditure at our house for quite awhile! My husband, Jeremy Isaac, is a Colorado Springs Realtor and totally the love of my life. We fell in love in high school while working on web design projects together, and the fun has never stopped.
While sometimes I feel that all I ever do is tell people how to save money, I know that ultimately, money can’t buy happiness. In the end, Christ will return to the earth all the money we’ve saved and groceries we’ve stockpiled will be gone. I’m looking forward to meeting Christ, the Ultimate Saver, and hope that you, too, will understand the greatest savings story ever told.
